What exactly is ‘Technical Help’? 
If you would like me to set-up, build, measure or show you how to use the product you wish to buy, this is considered technical help.   

What if I just want to get some advice? 
No problem!  But you still need an appointment! 

How much will it cost? 
R250/hr, ( R125/ 30 min)

I will quote based on your specific needs, but here are a few examples: 

Fitting of a new recurve string and nocking point…R80 

Fitting and set-up of a arrow rest and D-loop…R250

Fitting and adjustment of a peep sight…R180

Measure, set-up and basic training for a recurve kit R290

Measure, set-up and basic training for a compound bow  kit R490

These charges include the following:  
Knowledge, advice and guidance from an experienced bow technician, who will give you the best advice possible, to enable you to purchase the correct equipment truly suited to your needs…

Please note: I will do my best to keep prices as low as possible…
For example, if a family group is buying multiple bows I can work out a much better deal…!

What if I need technical help and have not made an appointment? 
You will be served as soon as possible, but priority will be given to customers who have made appointments… 

If I know what I want, do I still need an appointment? 
Yes…!  

What if I am late for my appointment? 
It is important that you arrive for your appointment on time, since i need to attend to other customers in their time slots. I will do my best to accommodate you, and serve you asap…

What if you are running late? 
The goal of the appointment system is to eliminate clients waiting on one-another, but in the real world there will be some issues or even botched bookings…But I will strive to help my customers as best and as quickly as I can…! 

Why are you charging me for technical help when I think it should be included? 
Well if you go to the doctor do you pay for their advice, most assuredly YES…!
I’m a specialist in my field and my experience and know-how is what you pay for…

How much will you charge for helping me with items purchased elsewhere? 
Please note that the above mentioned charges are based on the understanding that visitors are purchasing items from Hide-out Archery. For example, if you have pre-existing equipment and required technical help there will be additional charges…

What is the booking procedure?

I will review the information and get back to you shortly to discuss your requirements... (During normal opening hours).   

If you have visited my shop before you’ll know that i strive to work with my clients 1 on 1, to get a better feel for their exact needs… 

The appointment system will allow me to do this more easily…
Over 80% of my customers that visit require help selecting or using the product they wish to purchase? 

In the one hand, this is wonderful, since I enjoy setting up bows and helping customers choose the right product. I have built my reputation on exactly this and wouldn’t want it any other way.   

In the other hand, it is getting tougher for me to manage in-flow customers and my online customers…! 

In fact pro shops are struggling to compete with online sellers…   
The reason should be obvious – The costs of running a physical shop, staffed with good people is far more expensive than shipping an on-line order…

However, the role of Hide-out is not that of a traditional retail shop…
No…it’s an archery technical center, a Pro shop where clients can come for top shelf advice and expertise, bow set-up, problem solving, as well as a place to buy equipment..

So with this in mind, it has always been my philosophy to act as if I was spending my own money. This is a core value for me here at Hide-out and something that will never change…

I also don’t want the time I spend with you to be governed by how much you are spending. It takes the same amount of time for us to set up a bow kit that costs R5000 as one that costs R15000; in fact the cheaper the equipment, the longer it can take, since the cheaper products often require a little more ‘love’ to get it right…

One thing is certain, I will not compromise on time and skill to properly set up a bow for a customer…
There are no short cuts and you need the correct advice…!
